I can't believe I missed this but it pleases me greatly that it's been confirmed that Simpsons writer John Swartzwelder is real. Granted one picture of him was out there but the accusation that he was a collective pseudonym for Jon Vitti or other writers was possible.

My favorite Swartzwelder story was that he did the bulk of his writing in the same booth in the same diner, smoking and drinking coffee, then bought that booth and had it installed at home after California banned indoor smoking. Unfortunately, he denied it in the article so be careful what you wish for.
The man is the closest thing to an IRL Ron Swanson probably.
