The ideas of this article are nice, but apparently written by someone who really doesn't know history.
The writers of the US Constitution knew exactly what they were doing; they were trying to centralized power from a decentralized model. To change the Articles of Confederation required a unanimous vote, which is why the powers were so limited. The constitution changed that. Right after it was ratified, it instituted taxes that people had fought against and Washington marched troops against them. The Judiciary didn't have the authority of judicial review, they took it under the Marshall court. With the Bill of Rights in effect, Adam's and the third congress passed the Aliens and Sedition acts which outlawed speaking I'll against the government.
The stories told by The Right about "the founders" and the wonders of the constitution are fantasies, started by the very men who lauched their coup.
