I'm guessing we're only finding out about Mitch McConnell's passing now because they weren't able to tell for a few days.
You may have seen memery floating around to this effect, but I'm absolutely fascinated with this guy's life. In case you get any feelings you accomplished feats of professional acumen in your life and career, check out this guy.
Jonny Kim enlisted in the Navy at 18 and immediately qualified for SEAL training. He survived a training regime with a 96% attrition rate to become a Navy SEAL combat medic and sniper.
Then he completed over 100 combat missions and earned a Silver Star and a Bronze star among 30 or so other citations.
Then he left active duty, and earned a degree in mathematics from U of South Dakota.
Then he applied for medical school, and got accepted to Harvard. He become a Harvard MD in 2016.
He got bored with that, though, so during his residency, he applied to NASA and became an astronaut.
Bored with just being an astronaut, he wanted to learn to fly the craft, so he decided to go to Navy flight school and train to become a combat pilot.
