Went up to Murphys with my very liberal friend yesterday

Just to get out

We were outside drinking a glass of wine

When this old woman comes outside with a cane, belt over like some old German peasant woman, just to talk to some of the other people outside with us.

My friend does a half eye roll

I say to her, in a whisper, "That old woman

That old woman is probably one of the richest women in Stockton"

My friend looks at me, asks, "How do you know?"

"That's Gail Kautz, she owns all of this. And all those vineyards up along Grant Line Road, on the right side. Those are all hers too", (well the family does.)

On the way home, she says something about how white it is up there.

I say, "True, but you couldn't leave your purse unattended on your chair like that anywhere else"

"True", she says with a smile

Then we talked about how my oldest is a liberal and hers is a leftist commie trans. She does all the "they" and polite stuff left conformity, but I could see a flash of anger and regret in her face and ...
