I didn’t have kids so maybe that’s why I think this is weird,
a friend is coming to visit with his 5 year old granddaughter.
his wife died recently and he and the kid’s grandmother from the other side of the family are relieved that there will be a woman around during this visit.
apparently usually one of my friend’s sisters stays with him when the granddaughter visits since his wife died.
the reasoning being that although he helps her bathe now, maybe grandpa shouldn’t be bathing her in a couple of years.
my response was, don’t you think she’ll be bathing herself in a couple of years?
also, really? a 5 year old can’t be left alone in a bathtub? I’m not suggesting put the kid in the tub and go out back to smoke a joint. I’m just saying, leave the kid alone in the tub and hang out in the next room or hallway listening. no wonder no one is independent anymore.
