Does anyone remember this thing?
Its a Vectrex, a complete gaming system that came out in the 1982. Couple of weeks ago I bumped into this guy, Jay, at a sandwich shop here in Montrose. Turns out he was the inventor of the Vectrex. He ran a gaming company in Santa Monica throughout the '70s and '80s and has 60 gaming patents. We invited him to our by bi-monthly developers lunch as our special guest. He entertained us for 2 hours of his life adventures working for Mattel, his own company, Milton Bradley and everyone else in the gaming industry throughout the '70s and '80s. Vectrex is going to be reintroduced by a French company interested in retro gaming. The new design is based on an ESP32.
One of his side stories was about his good friend Carroll. Jay bought his Shelby Cobra serial number 25 and drove it to work for years.
