More from Rio!
I first went to the rich people cemetery, and looked for some famous people I know are buried there. I only found Nelson Rodrigues, one of our great social commentators, but I know Tom Jobim, Carmen Miranda, our greatest writer, Machado de Assis, and the author of my favorite Brazilian book, Gustavo Corção, are all there. Such a beautiful place.
Then I met another friend today but I forgot to take a picture with her. She said she'd never though of the cemetery as a go-to place for tourists, but that's insane to me. We went to the Republic Museum, even though I hate the Brazilian republic, but it was nice. Many cool things. It is located in what used to be the house of a very rich coffee entrepreneur, called the Baron of Nova Friburgo, and the details are frankly breathtaking. Surreal to imagine a rich guy used to want to have such a house. Nowadays rich people are kind of corny when you think about it. The decoration is very pagan and very beautiful.
I also went to see some ducks because I'm literally Tony Soprano and to the Orla.
I'll post more pictures on the comments. There's a bunch. And everything is beautiful.
