I saw the Young Washington movie. Yikes. Pretty rough, but not the worst movie I saw this weekend. That honor belongs to Sheep Detectives. If you have time to see either, go do something else.
If you'd have asked me in 1995 who the guitarist is in this video, I'd have said "That's Richard Patrick, he's a touring guitarist and collaborator with NiN, he broke off and has this new album Short Bus with his band, Filter."
I'm sure it's not news to several on this forum, but TIL that's Robert Patrick's (cop from Terminator 2) brother. Robert actually campaigned to have Nine Inch Nails on the soundtrack for T2 instead of Guns'n'Roses
I'm sorry, I'm just having one of those simulation "wtf is life" moments. T2 and NiN were 2 formative pillars in my 90's experience of pop culture and the fact I never came across this little trail of reality just baffles me. How did I not know this? What else are they keeping from me?
I am applying to a job at the port of Seattle and they're asking this question just to apply:
7. The Port of Seattle is committed to becoming a model of equity, diversity, and inclusion regionally and nationally. The Port is engaged in ongoing work to embed equity, diversity, and inclusion into our workplace culture, our policies, and our day-to-day practices. Everyone in the organization—from leadership to front-line workers—is expected to join in this commitment. If hired for this position, will you support our efforts to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion? . Required
I'm fishing for ideas on what you guys would do if you got hired somewhere like this to subvert the DEI?
Edit: More like long-term slow burn kind of stuff where you really want to stay there but just stymie the commies.
