Sixteen Novembers of daily writing tells you a lot. Here's my read:
The title's the thesis: ^H – Everything Gets Deleted Eventually. Backspace key as blog name — wry, nerdy, a little fatalistic. The voice matches: dry, self-deprecating ("slovenly nerd," "my shitty blog," "this is where I bloviate" ), and digressive in a way that feels like thinking out loud. One entry will touch Iran, the Cowboys, a 400-page book, and a doctor's appointment without blinking.
Politically homeless is the throughline. Nixon-Republican parents, campaigned for Libertarian Harry Browne, now trusts nobody — "GOVERNMENT DOESN'T WORK" is about as close to a slogan as it gets. On tech he's the same way: IT nerd, allergic to hype (see: the AI essay), but perfectly happy to make the tools do his tedious chores.
The personal stuff is stated plainly and never performed. Disability, MS, the infusions, the paratransit — "I'm now disabled, and I'm okay with this," period, no inspirational arc. And the writing itself is clearly a compulsion at this point — your words — running from OpenDiary in '99 through NoJoMo every November since ~2010.
Any one says immigration is a good thing and is OK with this, do not trust that person. Shun and shame them. They are not your friend. They are complicit with the enemy. Civilization will not survive this. In France, it's already time to start stacking bodies, but alas, they're so cucked they're going to watch their entire society burn to the ground.
The big news in video gaming is the PS5 jailbreak.
Some dudes apparently used an AI to near-instantly jailbreak the console to operate bootlegged/pirated games, as well as games from older consoles (even older discs) like PS2 and PS3.
They also have the console applying things like AI texture re-gens and frame insertion to enable 60fps modes and 4K upgrades for older titles.
They also put all the games up on free servers
I honestly don't know how Sony recovers, they weren't making money on PS5 tbw, and there has been little by way of flagship titles that move units. Prices continue to go up and will remain in the clouds for at least the coming year.
I think coding is going to become to humans what long division did in the advent of the pocket calculator, and later, the spreadsheet: It will become this layer of machine code that only machines think about, all people will do is describe functionality.
