Last post for now about the elections in these godforsaken lands, but this shows the number of votes from a very wealthy neighborhood in São Paulo, notoriously snotty manchildren and stuff.
They used to be for the Social-Democrats (blue in this message), who btw were the OPPOSITION to Lula until Bolsonaro came along. They voted once for the guy and later went full Lula.
They're kind of our equivalent of WASPy Karens when I think about it. Hardly the ones responsible for Lula's win (the Northeastern region, which has become a parasite of the actually working part of the country gets that spot), but still relevant enough to swing an election.
Hard to describe the despise I feel towards the "clean" and "polite" class of this shithole.
The message mocks: Bolsonaro is now a poor people thing.
And indeed it is. Vulgar and stupid, like most of them. Brazil desperately needs an alternative to him on the right. I really envy the Argentinians now, at least their future looks brighter than ours.
Economically, Lula and Flavio Bolsonaro wouldn't be all that different. Lula isn't stupid and he abandoned the socialist roots he used to have in the 80s and 90s, and his economic advisor is proposing some fairly liberal things, at least in Brazilian standards, such as cutting benefits, investments in school and healthcare and fiscal incentives, not to mention civil servers and social security.
The problem is the fucking Supreme Court. Alexandre de Moraes was already bad enough, but Lula nominated Flavio Dino in his most recent presidency, and the guy is a lunatic. We've had people being outright censored, persecuted and some even fled the country.
Even if this was economic paradise, the idea is to make life insufferable for anyone who doesn't swallow prog/socialist discourse. X was down for an entire month last year. There was an issue with Discord earlier this year. Telegram was taken down multiple times BECAUSE OF A YOUTUBER. There is no winning, ever, that doesn't cost more than itself.
I rarely get pissed at politics, but this time it was just... Fucking ridiculous. The elections were clearly rigged like in America in 2020, and anyone with a functioning pair of eyes could see that. But of course conservatism INC ain't gonna do shit about it. We were so close of having a little bit of a breath of fresh air, man.
Guys, let me drop the true red pill.
Much of this "anti-zionist" crowd is just third-worldist that will support any sort of hellhole as long as it is not supportive of Israel. This is not an issue that is that important. The issue of the Middle East is complicated due to 357 different factors including zone of influence and political alliances over a very useful area. Do not trust these people, do not trust their agenda, they want you starving.
I finished this book today. I'm not much into westerns, but despite a slow start it really became a page turner by the end with some phenomenal characters. Now I want to find the 1989 miniseries to see how it holds.
It's been interesting to reflect on the idea of frontier justice and how this may have shaped what America became. When horse thieves are regularly hanged in a quasi-vigilante manner, it quickly weeds out a lot of anti-social people and their tendency to drag the rest of society down.
Unfortunately now it seems like many western countries are not only failing to appropriately manage their anti-social natives, but are also actively importing those from other countries. This seems part state mismanagement but also aided by plenty of suicidal empathy from the masses (WOMEN! or really a toxic femininity). The majority of US citizens disapprove of ICE, and could not be expected to tolerate let alone support something like the public hangings of the wild west.
I'm not black ...
