This is hilarious memery, but the reason to connect your freezer to the internet is to alarm it when it is unmanned so that it alerts you before food spoilage if, say, a compressor seizes up in the wee hours of a Monday morning. I suspect the malicious code entered through the SCADA and alarming features of these freezers, which on the commercial side ime lag on security features. This is one of several attack vectors I worry vaguely about as a long-time engineer in the utility space. Such commercial ventures often judge risk on a per-customer basis and don't assess it at the level of a nation-state subject to widespread attacks along a niche vector like their commercial freezers.
The two truisms of American politics are that the GOP and the right will always snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and the DNC and the left will always overreach and fall flat on their faces. So I guess now it's the left's turn at bat.
"Muh democracy" wins again. Render unto Caesar, eh?
I'm grateful my fellow enlightened citizens shot down the multiple tax hikes my greedy city tried to push through. 🥳
Guys, I actually agree 120% with this tweet. I know I'm not American and have no say in this, but I really think that not taking part is a bad idea and actually voting Democrat is even worse. There always is a least worse poison and there are always worse outcomes and things like Talarico are clearly the worst outcome. Americans were electing warlords who were raping them for the good cause, the foreign wars or whatever, now Americans are electing warlords who are going to rape them for the good cause, gay race communism. And Democrats are much craftier than Republicans when it comes to maintaining political hegemony.
Leonard Cohen sings: there is no decent place to stand in a massacre. Yep, seems about right.
