i have a signed photo of Dubcek over my desk and he plays a very key role in The White Pill, so I was nervous about reading his autobiography and finding out he sucked
boy was i wrong. he really lays out what he was going for with the Prague Spring, and all the machinations of the Soviets against him. Most revelatory is how they harassed him and his wife for decades, including punishing anyone who was seen being kind to them.
Great man, great book, well written.
Musical interlude:
Listening to old Opie & Anthony clips and there's one where they talk about misheard/misunderstood lyrics. This song made me laugh as instead of hearing the word "Magic", which is repeated over and over, the caller said he heard "my dick". Gives a whole new meaning to the tune.
