I needed an indoor winter time old lady hobby so I've taken up embroidery.

My most recent project is a felt ornament for my friend who is coming up on the one year anniversary of her daughter's suicide. My design combines the idea of kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, along with a rose growing out of the crack which was the design she had chosen for our group marathon this past fall. An ornament bc they will be putting up a special memorial Christmas tree each winter.

The other projects are based on designs I found online or in craft stores, gifted at Christmas to my family.

It's relaxing, and works well for short bursts which gives me something to do between kid/house responsibilities instead of social media (I still do that, too, just aiming for less).

We recently had our second daughter. Been away from social media (with exception of a minute here or there) for a while. Coming back and browsing Twitter, it really makes you think to yourself "why do I spend so much time each day following all this shit?"
