A Highschool acquaintance recently lost his sweet dog suddenly. He was so upset. He asked if I could paint a portrait of his fur baby. (I dabble in pet portraits). I hope he likes it! This is ‘Maggie’. 8x10 watercolor. Original photo and my interpretation. Of course seeing your finished artwork posted is cringey as I see I could have tweaked some areas. Oh well. Overall, I am pleased.
It rained SO MUCH in the Texas Hill Country today. I don't think the rain stopped AT ALL this morning. We were fortunate to find a way to the highway since our normal drive was completely flooded. That being said, some of the water crossings we went through today made me very nervous. I'm very grateful to God we got back to Houston safely (although it took us 2hrs/~40% longer than normal!)
Photos:
1) Llano River today
2) Llano River normally
3) A new "lake" on our ranch!
4) That "lake" normally (different vantage point, arrow pointing to the "lake" ); we've seen water here ~2 times in the last 8 years, and never this high!
5) Our dog swimming in our new, temporary "lake"!!!
Life has been nothing less than a bitch in the last couple of weeks, I genuinely felt like shit because of personal reasons, but today was a good day. The sky was beautiful when I went to church (Leviticus 19, 15-18 proves that even in the book most filled with godly bureaucracy He still sends personal messages for us), later I watched Jurassic World with a friend on her birthday, ate this hawaiIan thing and found out book stores have sections for "Tik Tok books", whatever that means.
Sometimes life is good, man.
