At what age do people lose their sense of life being magical?
I stayed in a hotel last night with my family, and my toddler was terrified of getting on the elevator. Her siblings immediately stepped in, transforming the elevator into a spaceship complete with lights and sound effects. Her fear vanished, replaced with laughter and awe, as she stepped aboard with confidence. It happened so naturally for them. This was not a mere game of pretend - the elevator WAS a spaceship.
Children are a blessing. If anything, they help prevent adults from becoming too serious, boring, and cynical.

My family & I had a wonderful time at the Alamo last weekend. What an incredible story! The men were impressively brave & principled -- esp the 32 who marched 75mi from Gonzales knowingly to their death. I'm grateful my daughter enjoyed the visit (despite initial eye rolls for reading the detailed signs). It was certainly inspiring to be there.
