My best friends dad passed away about 15 minutes ago. My BF and I have been friends for 30 years and his parents were like my second parents. His mom lost her 23 year fight with cancer about 2.5 years ago and today he lost his dad. He stayed home to care for his parents for the last 5 years.

Seeing what he's had to go through with them and the emotional baggage he's got from it is heart breaking. He literally has to start a new life, starting this evening.

He is not alone. I've been talking to him nightly the last 6 days. They knew it was coming. I was on the phone with him about an hour ago and he said "I gotta let you go, I think he's going right now." And he did. His father died with a loving family around him.

This isn't easy for him. A lot is about to drastically change in his like.
