@Malice, have you ever been anywhere super rural for an extended time?
I wonder what the experience is like for a city dweller to be out in God's country.
I live 7 miles from town and there's no option for public transportation or Uber. I live in the most populated area in a two hour radius and my county has 17k residents. We have an airport that only has 3 commercial flights a day and they all go to Denver. You know you're a local when you know someone on your flight more often than not.
My homeschooled 10 yo son, admittedly small for his age, got stopped by 3 different people while walking solo to the library a few blocks from our house. During school hours and near an elementary school, so I guess the adults were confused.
Trying to be charitable that maybe they had good intentions and just wanted to make sure he was ok and not lost, but now he doesn't want to walk to the library alone anymore because it made him uncomfortable.
