Lots of people (I think earnestly) suggest that people who enter the country illegally or overstay a visa shouldn't be deported because they are seeking a better economic condition. I'm generally quite sympathetic to that but a big problem is it still expresses a priority to them over citizens because there isn't a comparable offer to those citizens.
If people get to ignore system laid out for immigration to put themselves in a better position, what is the equivalent for citizens? What rules do we get to ignore to get ahead, even as a one time deal? Basically everything we do is tied up in red tape and we're told that's just part of living in a rules based order. So, even under the fake social contract, liberals are only carving out exceptions for people that ignore it and calling anyone that questions it as a bigoted.
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.
