Made my comfort food yet again this evening, like the 100s times before, green chile chicken enchiladas with rice, beans and 2 fried eggs.

5 hours from now, 3AM, marks the first anniversary of my nephew Michael's accidental overdose death in West Hollywood and the new reality that's become my life and hundreds of others. I don't have many regrets in my life but times like this evening, I'm reminded of them all. I should have visited Michael more and met him as a successful adult forging his own life. His friends, whether from the gay community, movie industry or deaf community were beautiful wonderful individuals full of compassion, empathy and love. Completely different side of life inaccurately portrayed in stereotypes.

The day-to-day posts here, podcast topics, political drama, etc is just a bunch of noise and distraction. You have a life to live, please work on having no regrets at the end. As you age, this gains more relevance. I turn 62 in July and can see the end coming and quite frankly, I'm running out time. For all of you younger, I beg you to make those career choices, ask that person out on a date, take that leap, risk it more and make it count.

Michael worked his entire life, overcoming challenges (deaf and gay for him), to build his graphic designer dream. Friday afternoon, Sony Pictures awarded a multi-year contract to his new design firm to start on June 10th. Michael died on June 9th, he was this close to his dream. Missed it by 1 day.

You are here for such short time, make it count for something. Stop wasting time, your life will be over before you know it. Thanks for listening.

Love to you all, now back to your shit posts and the like.

I got this comic the other day written by the great Jean Van Hamme of Thorgal and Largo Winch fame. It's a 60 page comic with three short stories about totalitarianism disguised as democracy.

The second story about a mother living in a medical dictatorship is what would have happened if the covid regime had have 100% won. The despondent sheep like people, government bureaucracy, fake freedom of choice and the horrors of 100% socialised medicine. I had constant flashbacks about covid whilst reading it and this was written in 1988 I believe. Absolutely recommended reading (great artwork as well)
